The piece

The dial is real mother of pearl, formed inside a shell one delicate layer at a time, so the face shifts as you move and no two are alike. Seventy-two Swarovski crystals ring the bezel, setting off the shell beneath. The gold mesh bracelet is adjustable and sits flat and light — the most wearable of our bands. At 36mm, with a Japanese automatic movement that never needs a battery, it is elegant enough for an evening and substantial enough for a Tuesday.
